Rovers Trust Statement
Below is a statement directed at the owners of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, published by The Rovers Trust on the 24th August 2016.
The Rovers Trust, the official supporters trust for Blackburn Rovers (for those of you who may not know much about Blackburn). Has today called on the owners to officially put the football club up for sale. A decision that we here at Venkys Out support!
The call for the owners to sell the club have comes due to the mounting concern which is emanating from the fans over the future of the club. This has included a lot of anger on social media over the way Rovers is being run, as well as a very poor start to the season with attendances dropping more and more every year. With the club only selling just above 9 thousand season tickets this year, all due to the venkys.
The call for Blackburn Rovers to be put up for sale has also fallen on the fifth anniversary of the trust’s initial request to meet and talk to its owners. However, there is and never was, any sign of that ever happening. As Blackburn Rovers fans know, communication has been a long standing issue with venkys. Members of the Rovers Trust were asked if they approved of this new stance, 97% of those who responded said yes. Therefore the stance was changed. A damning verdict if I ever saw one!
This article contains all the information you need to know regarding the request to sell the club and can be read here.
